Release 27/11/2025 - Early User Feedback Live in Distil Diagnostics

  • Updated

This release introduces new charts, reports, and platform updates across Distil Diagnostics. This release incorporates feedback from the first cohort of Distil Diagnostics users and is designed to improve visibility and accuracy of the crucial data needed in operational and revenue decision-making.

New Charts, Reports & Features

Opening Hours Verification Report

A new report is available in the Analytics Portal showing the Open/Closed status of each restaurant in 15-minute intervals. The report compares OpenTable Directory data with Virtual Data Warehouse (VDWH) shift data and highlights whether a day has been marked as a special day.

Monitor Daily Re-forecast Chart

A new Daily Re-forecast chart has been added to the Monitor showing the values of the daily forecast and how actual in-books values are building up each day compared to the Expectation. This provides a clear visual view of how the week is tracking against Expectations and whether current activity is moving performance in the right direction.

Demand Data Copy to PostgreSQL

New functionality has been added to copy Demand data from Snowflake to PostgreSQL. This includes an initial historical load and a daily incremental load. The resulting table provides cumulative demand counts per restaurant and service for the 35 days prior to service.

Usability Updates

Expectation Settings – Save State Indicator

When saving Expectation settings, the Close (X) button is replaced with a Saving icon while changes are being persisted. This prevents the slide-out from being closed before the save process completes.

Pinned Week Day Tabs in Forecast View

Week day headers and totals are now pinned to the top of the Forecast table. When scrolling, the day labels remain visible to help track data more easily.

Capacity Report Slide-out

A new Capacity Report slide-out is available from the full availability chart. Users can open it via a link in the tooltip to view detailed capacity information for a selected restaurant, service, and day. The report includes

  • In-Books data
  • Capacity data from the Virtual Data Warehouse, including online reservability, flow control, table occupancy.

Monitor UTM Campaign Tracking

The Monitor dashboard now includes a marketing campaign UTM code, allowing marketing activity to be tracked directly within the Monitor. The UTM Campaign Code follows a defined format including fiscal year, week number, service, and restaurant ID.

Restaurant Name Display

The space allocated for restaurant names has been expanded to support names up to 50 characters, improving readability in availability views. For some clients, temporary logic has been applied to display only the most meaningful part of long restaurant names (for example, “Bar – Soho” instead of “Jack’s Restaurant & Bar – Soho”). This may result in inconsistent naming where formats differ. A consistent “Friendly Name” solution is currently in design and planned for the next release.

Security Updates

SSO & MFA Session Timeout Enhancements

Users logging in via Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO) can now choose to stay signed in for up to 30 days. If an authentication token expires while the session is still valid, the system will automatically log the user back in.

Distil Security Measures

Enhancements have been made to the Distil Security measures. This includes work on various security standards such as PenTest, CyberEssentials Plus, SOC2, ISO 27001, and best practices for Azure and AWS security. Internal documentation and training have also been updated to reflect these improvements.

User feedback continues to inform the development of Distil. We are especially grateful to our early user group for working closely with us, testing new functionality, and sharing practical insights that directly shape ongoing improvements.
