Pull Customer data from Klaviyo into Distil

  • Updated

This article explains how to pull Lists from Klaviyo into Distil.

If you haven't already created a connection between Distil and Klaviyo, then you'll need to do this first.

Select Customer Data Sources

To pull your Klaviyo Lists into Distil, navigate to your Klaviyo Connection in Distil via Settings > Integrations. From the list in the panel on the left, select the Klaviyo Integration from which you would like to pull Customer records. Distil displays the compatible data sources it has found in Klaviyo for this connection. If you've just created the connection and there are no data sources listed, click Refresh List in the top menu bar.

Under Customer data sources (the first column), you should see a list of the Lists that you have in Klaviyo. You can enable or disable Customer data as a data source by clicking the slider.

While Distil pushes Customer and engagement data into Klaviyo (this is covered in the next article), Distil only pulls Customer data from Klaviyo. So you will see No data sources of this type available under the other data types. This is normal for connections to Klaviyo.

Click on a Data Source (List or Klaviyo Segment) to see details such as sync status, number of records and a list of Attributes. Click the slider to enable or disable this List as a data source.

Once Distil has finished importing and automatically tying the identities of the Customer records together, you can then view the data for each List or Klaviyo Segment in your Single Customer View in its own tab under Customer Data Studio > Segments > Data.

Klaviyo Attributes

For each profile, Klaviyo holds values for a set of standard fields that they call Klaviyo fields. In addition, as a Klaviyo user you can create Custom fields as explained in this Klaviyo article

When pulling Customer data from Klaviyo, Distil will bring in values for both Klaviyo fields (standard fields) and Custom fields.

If you have already pushed Customer data including Distil Attributes such as Customer Tracking IDs from Distil into Klaviyo, then these Attributes and their values will be pulled back into Distil as Custom fields.

Remember that you can view the data for each List or Klaviyo Segment in your Single Customer View in Distil, in its own tab under Customer Data Studio > Segments > Data.
