Introduction to the Shopify Business Analytics App

What is it?

Distil: AI Business Analytics is a Shopify Marketplace app that you can install directly into your store. It connects Distil AI with your Shopify store to give you and your team deep insights into your business performance, customers and marketing.

Business Performance Analytics

Have business performance analytics delivered to your whole team in time for Briefing Monday or Wrap-up Friday via Daily Insights. Get the lowdown on how the previous week went – and what targets you can set to make this one even better and stay on top of where you are in the sales cycle and how your end-of-year figures are looking.

Customer Analytics

Discover what your customers are really like – and how, when and why they really spend. Distil combs through your customer data, segments them automatically and lets you understand the difference between high value and low value customers. How do I install it?

To install the app, log into your Shopify store, then go to the Shopify App Store and search for Distil: AI Business Analytics. Follow the prompts to install the app. If you need help installing the app, there's a step-by-step guide here.

Once you've installed the app, there is some additional setup you need to complete to take full advantage of Distil's Tracking analytics.

If you don't already have a Distil subscription, then a new Account will be created for you within Distil. You can log into this Account from within Shopify by navigating to the Distil: AI Business Analytics app, and then clicking the Login to Distil button on the top right. You can also go to Distil at: https://data.distil.ai/.

Because Distil needs data to provide insights, you will need at least £5,000 in orders over the past 12 months to access Distil insights.

Is Distil: AI Business Analytics free?

Yes the app is free to install and use. It is designed to give you an insight into wider data products that Distil can provide to help you understand, monitor and grow your business.

Distil AI: Business Analytics includes free versions of our:

• Week-by-week, quarter-by-quarter and year end Revenue Forecasting Predictive Algorithms.
• AI Driven Customer Segmentation that compares your high value customers with your average and low value customers.
• Marketing Effectiveness Analytics to help you understand your complete funnel, and
• Product Sales Performance report that help you spot and react to trends.

Do I need to have an in-house analyst to use Distil AI: Business Analytics?

Not at all. Distil helps you understand and activate the data without the need of an analyst or any technical data knowhow. But if you already have an in-house analyst then please do share distil.ai with them as we have many more advanced tools as well as support to help you take your data driven capabilities even further.

Will installing Distil AI: Business Analytics affect my store performance?

No. Distil AI: Business Analytics uses Shopify APIs to extract and analyse your store data. The shopping experience is not modified in any way, installation of Distil AI: Business Analytics will have zero impact on the performance of your store (apart from helping you use your data to become more profitable of course!).

Optionally, you are able to extend the analytics provided by installation of our JavaScript Tracking code. This code has been designed to be fast and efficient, does not place any images or text on your pages and will not impact the performance of your store with the possible exception of a negligible load delay for the very first page-load after you have added the tracking code.

Is my data safe with Distil AI: Business Analytics?

All the data you connect in Distil AI: Business Analytics is encrypted and stored within our private network within the Microsoft Azure secure cloud infrastructure. Distil is fully GDPR-compliant.

Where does Distil AI: Business Analytics store my data?

All data is kept in Microsoft Azure data centres within the North Europe region.

Can I uninstall Distil AI: Business Analytics at any time?

Yes you can uninstall Distil AI: Business Analytics from your Shopify store anytime. This will disconnect your store and all data, including that used to build up historical forecasts will be removed from the Distil AI: Business Analytics platform.

Is support available?

Absolutely! Even though Distil AI: Business Analytics is free, we still look after you. Once signed up you have a dedicated customer success manager with whom you can book a call anytime. The link to their calendar will be available to you from within the App.
